Final-stage driver training (lõppastme koolitus) in Tallinn

A probationary licence (esmane juhiluba) is valid for up to two years. To exchange it for a full licence you must complete final-stage training at a driving school — that is Transpordiamet's rule. Autokool Kindel Rool runs this training for every holder of a category B probationary licence, whichever school taught the first stage.

Who it is for

  • Holders of a category B or B1 probationary licence — the course is a condition for the full licence.
  • Drivers who exchanged a restricted right to drive for a probationary licence.
  • Graduates of other schools: the first stage can be done anywhere, the final stage with us.

You can take the course as early as the day after receiving your probationary licence — there is no reason to wait two years. Many people only remember when a letter from Transpordiamet arrives saying their right to drive is being suspended.

What it includes

Transpordiamet sets the volume at six hours. You do the theory online before the training day; the whole practical part fits into one day.

Economical, safe and considerate driving mindset3 hours of theoryonline, before the training day
Slippery-road risk-avoidance practicum1 hourin Pärnu, on the training day
Reinforcing an economical, risk-avoiding driving style1 driving lessonon the road from Tallinn to Pärnu, in the school car

On the training ground you practise emergency braking and swerving around an obstacle, and feel how much longer the braking distance is on a slippery surface. In the eco-driving lesson we look at the habits you have picked up in your first two years behind the wheel.

Price

180 € — everything is included: theory online, both driving lessons, the slippery-road track and the school car. No extra charges. The state fee for exchanging the licence is paid separately to Transpordiamet. All our prices are on the price list.

When and how the training runs

The practical part runs on Saturdays, by prior booking, and fits into a single day — you complete the theory online beforehand. We meet in Tallinn at Kadaka Selver and drive to Pärnu in the school car: the eco-driving lesson happens on the way, the slippery-road practicum and exercises on the track in Pärnu, and the same car brings you back. No need to get to Pärnu on your own.

The full licence can be applied for one month before the probationary licence expires. Do not leave it to the last moment: if no full licence has been obtained within 12 months of expiry, a new probationary licence must be applied for and both the theory and the driving test taken again. If there have been no traffic penalties in the last 12 months, the licence is issued without a theory test.

FAQ

Can I do the final stage at a different school from the first stage?

Yes. Final-stage training is a separate course and can be taken at any driving school. Kindel Rool accepts students who completed the first stage elsewhere — all you need is a valid probationary licence.

How long does the training take?

Transpordiamet sets the volume at six hours: four hours of theory and two driving lessons. With us the theory is done online beforehand and the whole practical part in one Saturday: from Kadaka Selver to Pärnu and back in the school car.

What if my probationary licence expires before the training?

You have 12 months after expiry. If no full licence has been obtained by then, you must apply for a new probationary licence and pass both exams again. That is why it pays to do the training early, not in the final month.

Do I have to take the theory test again?

Not if you have had no traffic penalties in the last 12 months — the licence is then issued without a theory test. With a penalty on record, the theory test must be passed again.

Can I do the slippery-road training on its own, without the final-stage course?

No. The initial-stage slippery-road lesson is part of the category B course at Kindel Rool and is for our own students. Graduates of other schools do the slippery-road part within the final-stage training: one Saturday on the Pärnu slippery-road track.
