Driving lessons when you already have a licence

You have a licence, but you barely drive. Some people have not driven for years, some passed the test and never went into town alone, some moved to Tallinn and find the traffic here a different animal, some drive one route to work and back and nothing else.

This is not a driving course. No theory, no exam, no contract for a full course. Just driving lessons, as many as you need.

Can I take driving lessons at a driving school if I already have a licence? Yes. No course, no theory and no exam are needed, the licence is already yours. You agree a time and drive with an instructor through exactly the situations that worry you. At Kindel Rool the first session is two lessons for 80 €, after that 35 € per lesson, in your own car or in ours.

How we start

The first session is two lessons, 80 €. We do not start teaching in the first minute. First we look at what is actually going on: where you tense up, which situations you have started to avoid (almost everyone avoids reverse parking, you are not alone), what you have forgotten and what was never really explained.

Nobody will sigh, roll their eyes or explain how simple it really is. An instructor who raises their voice at a person behind the wheel does not work here.

You can come in your own car or in ours, whichever feels calmer. Many people choose their own: in a familiar car there is one unfamiliar thing less.

After the first session you get a written plan: what is getting in the way, which topics to work through and in what order. We do not put a number of lessons in it. People are different, and a promise like “five lessons and you will drive like new” would simply be a lie.

After that a lesson costs 35 €, the same price our course students pay. No package to buy up front: you drive until the topics in the plan are closed, and you stop when you feel it is enough.

What we do in the lessons

Whatever is in your plan. Most often:

• junctions and roundabouts where traffic is fast and there are several lanes;
• parking: parallel, angled, in a car park;
• out of town: highway speed, overtaking, changing pace;
• the particular route you actually need: work, school, kindergarten.

If your licence is foreign

The lessons work exactly the same way: we practise Tallinn traffic, not theory. Whether and how your licence has to be exchanged in Estonia is a question for the Transport Administration. That is a separate matter, and we do not issue licences.

Lessons start at Kadaka tee 56a (Kadaka Selver). Times are agreed around your schedule, evenings and weekends included.
